Busy First Friday of 2012

Friday, January 6, 2012 11:55 Fire police were requested before lunch time to shut Route 412 down due to a truck stuck partially in the road, and were on scene for about an hour.

Just after going available from the traffic control, Upper Black Eddy along with Engine 94, and 2 engines from Hunterdon County NJ were called for a dwelling fire on Bridgeton Hill Rd.  Chief 47 went on scene with a single story rancher with a working bedroom fire in the rear.  Engine 47 and Engine 94 arrived and went in service with hand lines to the interior to extinguish the fire.  Ladder 49 and Tanker 49 were also added to the scene and were put to work with ventilation and supplying water to the scene.  Crews were available at the 1 hour mark.

Just as Friday night duty crews were arriving at the station, Quakertown FD was dispatched for a dwelling fire in the Biro.  PD arrived confirming a working fire which sent Rescue 49 to Station 18 for the cover.  Crews covered for 3 hours before returning to service.
