By request of medic 142, 2 additional ALS units Medic 141, 124 and Jeff stat2 and Penn-star6 Medivac helicopters were dispatched.  At this time Command requested a 3rd Heavy Rescue to supplement manpower on the rescue ground which dispatched Rescue 23 from Dublin FD and an additional Engine to land both helicopters and Engine 24 took the assignment on the LZ.  Rescue 49 performed a dash push and partial roof flap for a rapid extrication due to the condition of the patient, Rescue 24 and Engine 94 worked on the pickup truck driver who was also heavily entrapped.  Both Pt's were extricated by the 15 minute mark and were transported to the LZ. Fire Police had the road shut down for the same amount of time. Thank you to Plumsteadville FD for your assistance and Dublin FD for covering our fire company.

Engine/Tanker assist with Dwelling and Cardiac Arrest Assist during Tuesday Night Drill

Tuesday, March 5, 2013 18:30  While members were in the middle of cleaning the firehouse, Tanker 49 was dispatched as part of a Tanker Task Force assignment to assist Haycock Fire Company with a Dwelling Fire.  Deputy 63 arrived to find an attached garage well involved with heavy extension into the house.  As manpower was becoming depleted, Haycock Command requested additional units which brought Engine 94 into the scene.  Engine crew arrived and went to work with overhaul of the dwelling and garage that were involved and extinguishing hot spots.  Engine 94 cleared the scene 4 hours later.

While the Engine and Tanker were working the job and Area EMS were on other calls for service, Medic 151 from Grandview hospital was called for a Cardiac Arrest in Nockamixon Twp. With additional crews in station, Rescue 49 made the response, arrived and immediately went in service with CPR .  Unfortunately Medic 151 came upon a 4 car MVA and were unable to make it through.  At that time another unit cleared Quakertown Hospital and responded.  Crews performed dilligently for around 40 minutes to revive the Pt. but were then advised once the Medic arrived that there was a DNR.  Rescue 49 cleared around 2 hours later.
